To secure this coat on your dog, fasten one velcro tab under the neck and one under the chest. Longer velcro strips allow adjustment for the best fit.
You'll notice this houndstooth jacket is adorned with a belt on the back.

It is adorable, very well made, lots of compliments. But: I bought 2 last year and was hoping the merchant would take a suggestion that the belt needs to be longer. My Chi is 3 pounds with a 9 inch circumference at the largest part of her middle. The coat says XS is for 10-13”. The BELT is 13” long, but due to the thickness and fluff of the fabric, there is only about 1” left to secure the Velcro. A year ago, I suggested making the belt for the XS 2” longer, but the belt of the coat I just bought was the same as a year before. I had to cut 2” off the belt to make a belt extension but not everyone can do that. The sizing of the coat itself is fine. So it’s only due to the belt being too short that I would not purchase again.
